Retro-eclectic flat in a 1930s building: 420 sq. ft.

The father of the owner, an architect, designed the interior of this apartment in the 1980s in a post-modern style. We were asked to refresh the space in the style of the 1930s, when the building was originally built, but without losing the spirit of the 1980s. The effect is an unorthodox, eclectic mix of 20th century design with modern touches. The large cabinet in the living room is a mahogany, pearl inlayed piece we had to renovate, while the solid brass chandelier was bought in Spain. All the radiators were replaced with brand new retro-inspired Zehnder Charlestons, fitted with new matching Italian brass valves. Marble shelves in the living room and bathroom have been kept in their form designed in the 1980s.
